What is TDS in water?

TDS means total dissolved solids. A TDS meter estimates the concentration of dissolved material in water, usually in parts per million.

What a TDS reading can tell you

It can help show how much dissolved material is present and can be useful for observing changes before and after reverse osmosis.

What it cannot tell you

A TDS number does not identify the substances that make up the reading. Two water samples can have similar TDS values while containing very different dissolved materials.
